Ode to October!

What a busy month! And can you believe how quickly the year has gone by?
Sorry my postings have been less frequent.
But, I'll do my best to catch you up...
Been working on a few Blogs and writing content for clients.
Have just finished penning columns for my weekly online dating articles.
In the midst of planning another book signing for a local author to be held in November. Promises to be a blast!

Wanted to submit an entry to Funds for Writers, but as today is the deadline, not sure I'll make it.

Got a new follower to this Blog! Thanks folks, for your time and support.

And amidst all the projects and deadlines, made time to mellow out with some hot jazz with cool friends at a local cafe. It was a good time.

I'm looking forward to fall... the hot chocolate, opportunity to wear my high heeled boots again, and unwinding to good books and quiet pleasures.

GROOVY PEOPLE!

...Anybody remember Lou Rawls' song of some decades ago called Groovy People?

Well in it, he refers to individuals whom he loves to share time with and kick back and relax.

"Down home" people is what he calls them.

Well, I feel the same way about creative souls.

I dig the vibe, the energy, and the creative connection from writers and poets!

I love the intellectual stimulation. You typically won't find useless small talk or big gossip mongers. We share stuff that changes lives and broadens horizons.

Like the recent Authors' Day event that I helped to organize at the new Beverly Library, (held by the Chicago Writers Association.) What a great afternoon!

If you missed it, you missed out on some enlightening, diverse authors, a great spread, and endless opportunities to network with like minded, "groovy people".

I'm looking forward to our next event in November..

Today's entry, in fact, was inspired by a plea I saw posted on FACEBOOK where a writer has requested that folks read and comment on her BLOG to try to build a following in order to establish a platform and increase her exposure. It's a situation that many of us can relate to.
